The 100% Cotton Turkish Towel is a bit different from your regular bathroom towel. At first, it doesn't seem to absorb much, but once you get the hang of it, it works surprisingly well. Just a bit of rubbing, and you'll be dry. Plus, it dries relatively quickly and has a clean smell right out of the bag.I bought a couple of brands, and this one edged out slightly in absorbency. It doesn't match the plush feel of a traditional towel, but it's a step up from drying with a tablecloth – manage your expectations, and you won't be let down. I got these for a trip, and they're perfect if you need to save space.The towel looks and feels good, holding up well after washing and drying. It's well-made and, personally, I love how soft it is. I've even repurposed it as a travel blanket because it folds up so small. Lightweight and absorbent, it's ideal for a quick hang dry, making it perfect for the beach or on-the-go. Overall, a versatile and practical addition, especially when space-saving is a priority.
This beach towel is quite long, although also not very wide. The cotton fabric is very thin, but is also very absorbant. This towel is soft, flexible, and comfortable to use. It also has an interesting visual design. It isn't really very visible from a distance, though, which causes it to appear almost solid blue with many rows of tiny, darker ridges. Once you are able to view it up close, however, multiple colors can be seen woven into rows of angled, sharp points. It also has a couple white stripes and a row of cream color tassels on the two shorter edges.It seems to me that this must have something to do with the technique of weaving the fabric of this towel, as it's style does appear like something woven on a loom. If this is indeed the case, it would also explain the design choice of having a row of tassels on each end. I believe this because I have used a fabric loom before. Not too much, but I have.There are foundation loom threads present on a loom which act like a canvas for weaving the fabric. These threads would run the entire length of the woven item, and then when finished, be tied off at the ends to prevent unraveling. So just in case this is how it was woven, be sure to prevent damage to the tassels. When you need to wash this towel, and assuming you choose to use a washing machine for this task, then I will highly suggest putting it inside a delicates laundry washing bag to protect the tassels better.Overall, I really like this towel. Very absorbant at a level that is hard to find these days. But they are also very thin, so it don't take massive amounts of liquids to soak this towel. But for me, and in my opinion, the thinness is tolerable because of how absorbant it is. 4 out of 5 stars for being so absorbant yet so thin when it's also supposed to be meant for drying off people after a swim at the beach.
One of my friends brought a Turkish Towel to the beach this summer, and I thought I would give one a try. This one seems to be slightly thicker than the one my friend had, so it's a bit heavier, but not much. It is a knit pattern with divots, almost a waffle texture, but very minimal, and almost smooth, with the front side more smooth than the back. It seems absorbent from a spot test. The pattern is exactly as pictured. The measurements are pretty accurate.
This is a lightweight Turkish cotton woven towel. It is suprisingly thin. As in bedsheet thin. It is also way more absorbent than bedsheet, which makes it pretty suprising. Although the manufacturer's pictures make the towels look like a solid color, they are actually patterned in small squares with a fringe on the ends of the towels.If you are expecting a soft, warm, fluffy towel to dry off with and bundle up in after a shower on a chilly day, this is not your towel. However, if its a warm day and you want to wrap it around you (or around your waist) this is your towel. Because it is thin, you won't get hot and the towel dries quickly. I'd imagine at the beach (where you can roll or fold this us really small) it would dry off quickly in the sun or a breeze. And because of it's ability to store in a smaller area than a plush towel, it might be ideal to keep in a beach bag stowed in the car during the season.
This towel is very soft and made of good-quality cotton. I washed it once (see photo) and it came out without any shrinkage and was not overly wrinkled. My husband tested the towel and he really liked it. He said it was very absorbent and he liked the size and shape. He doesn't like thick fluffy towels but said if you like those kinds of towels you may not like this towel because it is thin. But this makes it compact and easy to carry around. The weave, color, and tassels are very nice and this towel could easily be used for other uses - as a table runner, to cover a couch or ottoman, as a sarong, or accent piece on a chest of drawers. It would make a very nice gift too.
